Tournament Eligibility & Banned List

To maintain a fair and competitive environment for all participants, the Chatterbox Championship enforces strict eligibility requirements.

1. The "Hard Ban" (Ineligible for ALL Flights)

The following players are strictly prohibited from competing in any capacity:

  • Tour Professionals: Any player who has made more than one (1) start on the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, or PGA Tour Americas (including former PGA Tour Canada/Latino América) within the last 15 years.

    • Note: This includes anyone who has competed in any Major Professional Golf Championship

  • National-Level Club Pros: Any PGA Professional who has qualified for the National PGA Professional Championship (PPC) within the last 10 years.

  • Active Mini-Tour Players: Anyone who has earned more than $1,000 in professional prize money (Mini-Tours, State Opens, etc.) within the last 10 years.

  • Active Collegiate Golfers: Any player appearing on a competitive NCAA (D1, D2, D3) or NAIA roster for the 2025–2026 season.

  • Out of Town Ringers: No participants can participate with an address outside of 150 Miles of qualifying golf course.

2. Tips Division Eligibility

The Tips Division is the home for our most skilled competitors, However - ANY team may enter into the Tips Flight.

The following players MUST compete in the Tips Division:

  • All PGA Professionals: Any PGA Member or Associate (Teaching Pros, Assistant Pros, etc.).

  • Low-Handicap Amateurs: Any player with a verified GHIN Index of 2.9 or lower.

  • USGA Competitors: Anyone who has competed in a qualifier for any USGA National Championship (U.S. Open, U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Amateur, Mid-Am, Senior Am, Four Ball, ect..) within the last 5 years.

  • Recent College Athletes: Any player who has appeared on a competitive collegiate roster between 2016 and 2025.

3. Competitor Division Eligibility

The Competitor Division is reserved for the recreational tournament golfer.

You are INELIGIBLE for this flight, and must play TIPS flight if:

  • You have carried a GHIN Index of 2.9 or lower from 2024 to present.

  • You have ever entered a USGA Qualifier in the last 5 years.

  • You have won a City/Metropolitan Amateur or a Club Championship (Championship Flight) since 2019.

  • You have any Professional or Collegiate golf experience within the last 15 years.

Audit & Disqualification Policy

Zero Tolerance: All $1,000 CTP winners and advancing teams are subject to a background audit. We cross-reference USGA Qualifier pairings, Collegiate Athletic bios, and PGA Member directories & More.

If a player is found to have competed in a flight in which they are excluded from, the team will be disqualified without refund.

The "Fine Print" & Audit Policy

The Audit: All flight winners and $1,000 CTP winners are subject to a background check. If a player is found to have misrepresented their professional or amateur status, the entire team will be disqualified immediately with no refund of entry fees.

Committee Discretion: The Tournament Director reserves the right to move any team to the Tips Division based on "Known Ability" to ensure the integrity of the Competitor Flight. This event is impossible to sandbag - so don’t waste our time.
